Discover the vibrant world of colour pencil art in this comprehensive 3 day course led by the award-winning artist Laleh Kamalian. Suitable for artists at all levels, 'Fine Art in Colour Pencil' offers hands-on experience in mastering the medium's unique properties, enabling students to bring life to still lifes, capture the texture of animal fur, and replicate the subtleties of human skin tones.

This course is open to enthusiasts and artists of all skill levels. Whether you are starting your artistic journey or looking to refine your existing skills, there is something here for everyone.

Course Objectives

· Introduction to colour pencils and their use in fine art.

· Understanding the application of the colour theory with colour pencil.

· Techniques for blending and layering with colour pencils.

· Exploration of various colour pencil types and their effects.

· Learning the valuable techniques such as subtraction, erasing, scratching, layering, and replacing techniques.

· Selection and use of different surfaces for optimal results.

· Hands-on projects: still life, animal textures, and human portraits.

Tutor: Laleh Kamalian

Laleh Kamalian, a British-Iranian self-taught artist, began her artistic endeavour in 2014 after a career in science. Embracing realism in colour pencil and pastel, she captures the essence and emotion of her subjects, ranging from human portraits to the beauty of nature. In her short yet illustrious career, she has been featured in exhibitions, won awards, and now shares her passion and knowledge through teaching. She stands as a testament to the belief that it's never too late to pursue one's true calling.

Materials

To fully benefit from the course, you will need:

· Faber Castell Polychromos colour pencils (set of 36 or 60)

· Strathmore Bristol 300 series vellum pad, size A4 or larger

· Exacto cutter knife

· Tombow Mono Zero Eraser Pen

· Kneadable eraser

· Reliable sharpener

· A standard pencil

Cancellations / Refunds

Once you have made your course booking you are committed to it. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run.

Cancellations are permitted up to 30 days before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than 30 days before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.

If you wish to cancel your place on a course that has not yet started and you have a friend or colleague who can take your place we can accommodate this substitution.
